The Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM) is an honor awarded to members of the armed forces who perform outstanding volunteer customs service of a sustained, directly and consequential nature

The Armed services Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal is a Boy Scout Community Arrangement Award, used by community organizations to honor their volunteers for Scouting.  Recipients are presented a medallion on a ribbon (shown below), for wear on their MILITARY Uniform, a Ribbon (as well shown beneath), also for clothing on their MILITARY Uniform, and they may vesture the generic Boy Picket Community Organisation Honour Square Knot shown above on their Lookout Uniform.

Criteria:

Awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United states of america who, subsequent to 31 December 1992, performed outstanding volunteer community service of a sustained, straight and consequential nature. To exist eligible, an private'southward service must

  1. be to the noncombatant community, to include the military family community;
  2. exist significant in nature and produce tangible results;
  3. reverberate favorably on the Armed services Service and the Department of Defense; and
  4. be of a sustained and straight nature.

While there is no specific time threshold to qualify for the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM), blessing authorities shall ensure the service to be honored merits the special recognition afforded past this medal. The MOVSM is intended to recognize exceptional customs support over time and not a single act or achievement. Further, it is intended to laurels direct support of customs activities.

Clarification:

A Bronze medal, 1 3/8 inches in bore bearing on the obverse, v annulets interlaced enfiled by a star and environed past a wreath of laurel. On the reverse is a sprig of oak between the inscription "OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER SERVICE" at the top and "United states Military" at the bottom. The ribbon is 1 3/viii inches broad and consists of the following stripes: 1/8 inch Bluebird 67117; ane/8 inch Goldenlight 67107; 3/16 inch Bluebird; 1/sixteen inch Green 67129; five/32 inch Goldenlight; center 1/xvi inch Green; v/32 inch Goldenlight; one/16 inch Green; 3/16 inch Bluebird; 1/8 inch Goldenlight; and 1/8 inch Bluebird.  Both the medal and ribbon are shown below. Multiple awards are denoted by small bronze stars attached to the ribbon (up to five), or a pocket-sized silver star (sixth award to the aforementioned individual).
